The Derry Friendship Center
The mission of The Derry Friendship Center is to reduce the stigma associated with substance use and providing a safe space for peer based support for people in all stages of recovery.
The Derry Friendship Center is located in Derry, NH off W. Broadway on 6 Railroad Avenue. It holds 20 Recovery meetings a week, supporting hundreds of people throughout greater Derry with their Recovery.
In May 2022, while a member was renovating the coffee bar area to remove the slanted shingle roof, they discovered the roof damage. Once the ceiling tiles were removed, we discovered significant structural damage to the truss beams holding up the roof. The damage was so severe that we had to close the building for 6 months for repairs. All meeting groups had to find alternative locations to hold their meetings during this time.
The cost of the repair has been over $165,000!!! We were fortunate to have some help with the renovations and will continue to need the community’s ongoing help and support! Thank you, Derry Village Rotary, for the fantastic job you did with the repainting!
